From: Mateusz Milosinki SU2 boards.
Dimitri,
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve demoed your kites. I am blown away by Screamer 14. I’m 245lbs and I was riding this weekend in 15-16mph wind on my 135x41 SU-2 Prorider (which as you probably know doesn’t plane that fast and requires a little bit more power). I was perfectly powered with my weight and this “small” board on the 14 (it was set to 3rd knot but I would’ve been fine on the second too).

I’m really going to miss the 14 until I get my own. I really really liked it. I really liked the bar pressure, even though it is heavier to what I’m used to, but I love how the kite handles and love the feedback on the bar. Another thing that I just love is how predictable this kite is, and it always is where you expect it to be. You guys did a great job designing this kite.

I also tried 11 Renegade that Dale sent me, but I tried it in really gnarly conditions, that were really not suitable for testing. Wind was up and down from 10 (and sometimes less) to 35-38mph. All I can say it is super stable and handles great. Also very predictable and very comfortable:)

I’m going to go ahead and order the 14 as soon as I free up some cash which should be either this week or next week. Do you take Amex or other CC? (or maybe Paypal?)

Thanks again for hooking me up with demo kites from Dale. Right now guys in LA are trying them so hope you’ll guys will have more orders coming in:)

Talk to you soon.
M.

HI,Dimitri. You need to make a Screamer in a 5M!!! I have been enjoying my 7M for the past two months, it is amazing!! But, there have been a couple of days that I could have used a 5M!!!! I love my kites, and I hope to post more pictures and comments after this weekend, as we have more more big wind and waves coming starting tomorrow!!! Thanks again for the amazing kites!!!
Only one problem, after about 7-8 sessions, the grip on my bar started separating and peeling away. I will send you a picture. It's weird, like where the seam comes together when its heat wrapped around the bar, that's where it started pulling apart.
Anyway, the 7M has been absolutely AMAZING!!!! Linda

Hey Dimitri. Love the kite. Been out in the surf quite a lot with it and I don’t think I put it in the water yet. Was out with Lane the day of the photo of him. My first side off day. Awesome stuff. The kite jumps well too. Thanks again.

We had a small demo day here last week had about 5 riders show up, everyone was impressed with the kites, we flew the 10 and 14. Going to put together another demo and try to get a few more people to show up. I have some photos and video. Let Dimitri know that I will try to post some of that by the end of the week. The 10 really blew a few peoples mind. It was fairly light wind and we had some lighter riders boosting on the 10. Were supprised with the power.
Hope all has been good. My wife, daughter and I will be in Hatteras along with a couple of friends first part of June and would like meet up with you,Dimitri and your family to get some riding in and would also like to invite you guys to dinner. I will let you know the dates and hope you all are available.
Take care. I will look for that invoice.
Thanks,
Steve

From SO Cal

Just wanted to share my thoughts as this week I had a chance to ride RENEGADE 11 and SCREAMER 14.

I'm 245-250lbs so definitely on the heavier side of the equation, live in LA area (mainly ride Malibu or Belmont), and usually ride twin tips (135x41 and 150x40 Mako)

This week we had a strong storm going thru for couple of days and I decided to give the 11 a shot. I'm so glad that I had the Renegade with me this Wed as the conditions were gnarly. Wind was gusting to 35-38mph and would drop to 10-15 (and sometimes it would shut off completely) and then come up to 30+ again. The kite was SUUPER stable, and very predictable. It has very nice depower so gusts didn't bother me at all. It wasn't the best day to demo anything as I was more concerned about surviving then kiting, but I was really happy with how the kite performed.

Yesterday I rode the SCREAMER 14, which I was pretty skeptical about as I didn't think that this size would be enough for my weight. I really wanted to try the kite in Malibu which usually has stronger winds than Long Beach and OC area, to get a better feel for the kite, but ended up going to Belmont which has pretty steady 15-20mph winds on a good day. I normally ride my 17 Waroo there, even when the winds occasionally go up to 20-25.
The wind today was averaging around 15-16mph (12 to 18) so I figured that I'll pump my 17 just in case, if it wasn't enough for the Screamer and a twin tip. Before I went out on a Screamer I tried another 2010 kite in 15M. It was a really nice kite with plenty of power but I did have to ride the 150 Mako as it wasn't enough for the 135 TT. Rode that one for a bit and came back to change to Screamer. Once I switched and launched I couldn't believe how much power it had! It felt more powerful than my 17.
Screamer 14 is fast, powerful, cuts upwind really well, jumps great and I love that it always is exactly in the window where you expect it to be. Feedback on the bar is great and even though the bar pressure is a little heavier (I would say it's def. less than Bandits), but it really handles great.

I'm in a market for new kites, and had a chance to try number of 2010 kites in last few months and I must say that EPIC kites were the only once that I didn't have to get used to to ride them. They felt perfect, right from the first tack like I'd always been riding Epic.

Dimitri and Dale, thanks for hooking me up with demo kites, I think I'm ready for some EPIC times with EPIC kites:) :thumb:

Mark Shinn Review Renegade 6

“Hello Gentlemen,
Thanks to both your efforts I have now had a couple of solid sessions on the Epic Renegade 6m and have formed an opinion.
Thought you might like to have it......... (for what it is worth!)
The kite is very stable in all conditions. I had no stalling even in terrible gusty off shore winds. In extreme gusts the canopy maintains it's profile nicely....... no wing tip stall, no central collapsing ...... all good.
The power is impressive for a 6m kite. Pull is direct and instant. Turning is good (but then what 6m isn't!) I think I flew faster kites but it is more than fast enough and for wave riding is perfect speed.

I flew the kite on 16m, 20m and 25m lines and it handled perfectly on all of them. Unhooked it is working nicely but I would not say this is the forte of the kite. It is a little easy to stall when Unhooked and too much back line tension and it flies backwards pretty easily. But I did not get an EPIC bar so I was using another bar and maybe that was the reason.
Re launch I have absolutely no idea....... sorry!
Jumping performance is impressive also. The lift is very aggressive and the descent controlled.......
The only area where I was not absolutely stoked is in the depower. Of course the kite depowers well but not as much as some other that I've flown. But again I was not using the EPIC bar since Dimitri forgot to send it to me.

So, in conclusion.... great kite and I am loving using it...... in my very humble opinion it could have more depower and a shorter de power travel but apart from that....... very very very nice indeed.

Well done all!
Mark Shinn”

Review of the SCREAMER kite
From: Grant
Location: CA. USA
I actually got to spend a little bit of time on the screamer. But not enough to really do a full review on it yet. Hopefully tomorrow or this weekend there will be wind and I will have a video/review up by the end of next week. The Screamer is NUTS! Another rider and I demoed the Screamer and walked up to each other with huge smiles. We were absolutely blown away and couldn
t stop smiling. I definitely want to upgrade my quiver to Screamers.
